Thanksgiving in Death Valley

I don’t have a lot to say about Thanksgiving day in terms of exploration, but I can’t go without mentioning the incredible food and friendship that we find in the most remote of locations every year. Black Canyon, Inscription Canyon, and Afton Canyon

Once again I find myself in the final planning stages of our annual Thanksgiving Desert Road Trip.  This trip always creeps up on me so quickly.  First it’s Halloween, then my Birthday, and then all of a sudden I find myself in the middle of the desert on Thanksgiving (“Punch punch punch!”, in the words [...]

Almost every year, Dave and I head down to the desert for Thanksgiving. This year we spent four days in Death Valley. Although we’ve been to the park many times before, this time we tried to see things we hadn’t seen before.
